The last words that I heard her say before she went off to bed at 9:30pm on the night of October 8 were, "OK Baby, you can come into this world anytime you want to now."

All of the pre-baby projects were close to finished and the 8 months, three weeks of pregnancy had taken its toll.  At 11pm, contractions had awakened her from sleep, and I woke up to find her sitting up in bed with a clock in hand timing her contractions and saying "I think these are the ones!"  Contractions were spaced at 5-6 minutes apart and getting stronger.

By midnight, they were at 4 minutes apart and she instructed me to call the doctor.  Fortunately for us, the doctor lives across the way from us about 20 yards.  Upon examination, she was found to be dilated 2cm and 100% effaced.  The contractions continued and we were seeing a look on her face that we had seen before just 19 months earlier with Aden and knew to take it serious this time.  We scrambled to get the pre-packed bags and last minute items to the door and ready to take to the hospital.

At 1am we drove to the hospital (fortunately only a three minute drive).  Once inside the Private In-Patient room, there were a couple more contractions.  On probably the third set of contractions at around 1:15am, her water broke and contractions were growing stronger and stronger.  We were still trying to gather all of the needed instruments and supplies for the delivery when the delivery began.  Within ten minutes, this little blessing of a baby boy had entered into the world. Are we in labor yet?

Thanks for your prayers. We are so happy to announce to you all the birth of our second son.  What a blessing it was to have such a short labor and delivery (from contractions at 11pm to delivery at 1:24am). The Lord is good and we thank him for this little life that he has blessed us with.
