Prayer Requests for January/February 2008

1.Multicultural Leadership team

Pray for wisdom and inspiration in the coming months as the leadership team works on  long-term strategy to share the Gospel in fruitful ways  with those who come from multicultural backgrounds and now reside in Central Ohio.

COMO ( Central Ohio Multicultural Outreach) is now an official non-profit corporation in the State of Ohio! WE meet on the second Wednesday every other month from 1-3 p.m. in the Central Ohio District Office in Grove City. the next meeting is schedculed for March 12th 2008

2. Chillicothe Westside is putting in place a plan to reach out to the Hispanic population in that city through the setting up of English as a Second Language classes.

3. Eritrean congregation (Eritrea is a small country in the Horn of Africa).

Thank you for praying for our brothers and sisters in Christ who hold worship services in our Columbus First Church facility. Pastor Tekie Mebrahtu and his wife are the faithful shepherds of this flock.

 


THREE KINGS DAY CELEBRATION
SUNDAY JANUARY 6, 2008

 

What a great time was had by those who came together to celebrate Three Kings Day at the Westerville Church in the greater Columbus area!   Centered on the children, this Latino christian festival included inflatables set up in the gymnasium, snacks in the foyer, and a bi-lingual ( English/Spanish) childrens ministry from Chulo the clown. ( see photos below).

Westerville Church

The Westerville Church of the Nazarene has begun classes for English as a Second Language students. Classes will be free. The students have to purchase their own books and lab material for $35. First Quarter Classes will be held each Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. through November 7th.

Each month Mike and Jen Durst open their home for fun, food and fellowship for the spanish-speaking people of the church. Last month a game of "Pachanga" made for an evening of fun and friendly competition (see photo below).

Gallipolis First Church of the Nazarene has received 4 donated computers to begin their English as a Second Language ministry to the Chinese community working in that city. Please pray for Pastor Fulton and his church as they finalize their plans for this new outreach ministry.
